2017 Summer Select

Program Overview

 

ELITE PROGRAM | PROFESSIONALLY RUN

 

 

Program Offers: 

  • Runs from June 7 to July 20, 2017

  • Includes two technical training sessions per week covering four-corners of player development which are technical, tactical, physical and mental

    • Sample Session Topics:

      • helping strikers understand the supporting role when teammates have the ball

      • establishing width to exploit opponents from wide field positions, encouraging fullbacks to join the attack

      • building play through central areas of the field for successful counterattack

      • defensive priorities when in numbers down situations

      • man-marking and zonal defending, when to use one or the other for defensive success

      • teaching players to read the play and position themselves to prevent forward passes or passes between defenders

  • The training schedule and competitive calendar is planned and shared in advance of signing up

  • A comprehensive player evaluation, a personal development action plan for home customized to individual player needs and a parent education guide on nutrition for the elite soccer player and injury prevention program 

  • All league fees and tournaments are included in program costs

  • Goalkeeper training is included in program costs

  • All administrative costs are included in program costs

Important Upcoming Dates: 

  • Week of June 5, 2017, Team Parent and Player Meetings

  • June 7, 2017, Program Begins & Training Begins

  • July 20, 2017, Program Ends

 

Additional Notes: 

  • MFC Professional Staff Coaches will assigned to teams prior to May 15 parent information meeting 

  • Training Sessions will be held at Duck Pond Park, West Windsor Community Park or Conover Park

  • The total cost of Summer Select is $395 + $50 for a uniform (for new players). This is paid in two installments. The initial $200 deposit is due in response to you offer email after being evaluated by our staff. The balance will then be due April 30, 2017.

  • Age appropriate league play and tournaments (i.e. EDP Summer Classic Tournament)

  • Those players currently not US Club carded will be required to complete an additional US Club carding package for Mercer FC. The following is required: an electronic copy of birth certificate, electronic photograph (head shot only), US Club medical release form (one form linked with the registration). If your child is already US Club carded through another team presently then please reach out to Estelle Hughes, Club Administrator directly via e-mail at ehughes@wwpsa.org.
